Bright silver may be Dame Helen Mirren’s above-the-neck calling card, but even the most practised (and covetable) aesthetic deserves a shake-up every now and then. Mirren arrived at Cannes Film Festival today with her lengths pinned in an elegant updo – and coloured a multi-faceted shade of ocean blue.
Mirren chose a cool blue manicure to match her gown, with added ice in the form of diamond jewellery. But rather than relying on her sterling silver mane to round out the look, the actor put her characteristically elegant spin on 2023’s obsession with all things mermaid, unveiling hair in shades of aqua, cobalt and periwinkle. The crown of flyaway curls provided a wash of cool in more ways than one, aided by Mirren’s fan.
