The French-girl pedicure can be summed up in three words: clean, healthy and glossy. Basically, it’s a more polished version of your nails as they are naturally. Little wonder, then, that it’s proved to be one of this summer’s most popular trends.
Both gel polishes and natural finishes work for the French-girl pedi. Keep toes short and in as simple a shape as possible, and if you do choose to use a varnish, stick to one that matches your actual nail colour – subtle and chic is the name of the game here. A-list manicurist Harriet Westmoreland suggests elevating the finished look by painting a white line that mimics the natural whites of your nails, then adding a glass chrome finish over the top. “The shine is unbelievable,” Westmoreland tells Vogue. “And the best part is that the grow out is amazing, too.”
Finish by treating your feet with oils and creams to keep them soft and skin looking healthy and cared for.
